Medicare Options

While standard Medicare offers coverage for a wide variety of services, you may find that a different plan through a separate insurance carrier better fits your needs. If you are interested in an alternative plan, we can help you find coverage through either Medigap or Medicare Advantage. Both of these plans offer additional support through third-party insurers, and they are required to provide equal or better coverage when compared to regular Medicare.

Helping Hands Life advisors help you make sournd, indformed decisions about issues affecting your Medicare needs. Our philosophy is to fully understand your objectives and then translate them into solutions that provide assurance and peace of mind

Turning 65

Most people become eligible for Medicare when they turn 65. Your Medicare enrollment steps will differ depending on whether or not you are collecting retirement benefits when you enter your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP). We can help you figure out your best option.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage Plans are another way to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage. Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans,” are offered by Medicare-approved private companies

Medigap

Medigap is Medicare Supplement Insurance that helps fill “gaps” in Original Medicare and is sold by private companies. Original Medicare pays for much, but not all, of the cost of covered healthcare services and supplies.

Policy Review

Reviewing your current coverage doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll make any changes, but we make sure you understand what you have. You may be entitled to benefits you need but don’t know you have. We make sure you know, or let you know of better options that fit your needs.

Special Needs Plans

Medicare Special Needs Plans (SNPs) are a type of Medicare Advantage Plan. All Medicare Advantage plans must cover the same Medicare services. But some Medicare SNPs are for people with specific diseases or challenges with extra benefits. We will help you find the best option.

Part D / Prescriptions

Medicare Part D is also known as Medicare’s prescription drug coverage. It helps pay for medications not covered under parts A or B. Even though the federal government pays 75 percent of medication costs for Part D, covered individuals still may have to pay premiums, copays, and deductibles.

Dental Insurance

Original Medicare does not provide comprehensive dental care, and Medicare Part A will only cover select dental services that require hospitalization. For most types of dental care, such as cleanings, X-rays or root canals, you’ll need dental coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan, a standalone dental plan or Medicaid.

Vision Insurance

With Medicare Part B and relatively healthy eyes, a supplemental vision plan can help pay for eye exams as well as help offset the cost of prescription glasses, contact lenses and vision correction procedures. Or, medicare advantage plans often have extra vision benefits not offered with Original Medicare, like vision exams and eyeglasses.

Hearing Insurance

Hearing aid coverage varies based on the type of Medicare. Hearing aids are not covered by Original Medicare (Parts A and B) or Medigap plans. However, most Medicare Advantage plans (Medicare Part C) have some coverage for hearing aids. Contact us to see what your options are and how we can help you get relief from hearing loss.
